(AMZN.US) . Japan and the US confirmed their joint intervention in the foreign exchange market last Friday. Japan's stock market plummeted more than 1,600 points this morning (3rd), while South Korea's stock market also slumped more than 4%. However, the HSI opened at 25,987, up 102 pts or 0.4%; the HSCEI opened at 8,659, up 46 pts or 0.55%; and the HSTECH opened at 4,861, up 32 pts or 0.68%. Major techs edged higher broadly. Automakers released July sales data. GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) -0.330 (-1.667%) Short selling $153.09M; Ratio 12.964% opened up 1.52% after Zeekr brand sales more than doubled in July; BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) +1.100 (+1.168%) Short selling $1.07B; Ratio 41.448% 's July NEV sales mounted nearly 22% YoY, with the stock opening nearly 1% higher; CHERY AUTO (09973.HK) +0.480 (+1.799%) Short selling $1.16M; Ratio 2.702% opened up 2.7%; while LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) -0.350 (-0.655%) Short selling $324.97M; Ratio 42.093% sank 1.22%. Among individual stocks, XUNCE (03317.HK) +14.700 (+14.203%) Short selling $816.49K; Ratio 0.205% , which issued a positive profit alert, opened 14.98% higher; TAI HING GROUP (06811.HK) +0.090 (+7.627%) spiked 5.93% as the company expected interim profit to soar by more than 76%.
