# HSBC HOLDINGS 2Q Reported PBT Mounts 60% YoY to USD10.1B, Beating Expectation

HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) \-0.700 (-0.416%) Short selling $228.91M; Ratio 11.004% announced that reported profit before tax for 2Q amounted to USD10.1 billion, up 60% YoY and above market expectations of USD9.51 billion, primarily reflecting a net favorable impact from notable items of USD2.6 billion from notable items. Profit after tax was USD7.9 billion, up 63% YoY. Revenue increased by USD2.6 billion YoY to USD19.1 billion.

In 2Q26, notable items included restructuring costs associated with its organizational simplification of USD200 million. In 2Q25, notable items included dilution and impairment losses of USD2.1 billion related to its associate BANKCOMM (03328.HK) \-0.155 (-2.042%) Short selling $53.24M; Ratio 26.003% , and restructuring costs associated with its organizational simplification of USD500 million.
