# Primary-listed firms buy back $1.9b of shares in first seven months

**Singtel recorded the highest consideration during the period.**

More than 70 primary-listed companies in Singapore repurchased $1.9b worth of shares in the first seven months of 2026, according to SGX Group.

Singtel recorded the highest buyback consideration during the period, the bourse said in its Market Update report.

The telco maintained that full execution of its $2b buyback programme would result in an estimated 3% accretion to underlying earnings per share on a pro forma basis, based on its FY2026 underlying net profit. 

Meanwhile, 10 primary-listed companies conducted their first share buybacks of the year in July.

Geo Energy Resources led the group, repurchasing 5.8 million shares for $3.15m at an average price of $0.54 per share, followed by Raffles Medical Group, which bought back 2 million shares for $1.78m.

Secondary-listed companies were also active during the period.

Jardine Matheson Holdings repurchased more than 3.7 million shares for approximately $346.2m (US$270m) at an average price of $91.55 (US$71.41) per share.

Hongkong Land bought back more than 27 million shares for approximately $269.2m (US$210m) at an average price of $9.78 (US$7.63) per share.
