# HSBC London Shares Last Sag Fall 1.57%, ~0.5% Below HK Close

HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) \-1.700 (-1.011%) Short selling $1.05B; Ratio 22.925% closed at HKD166.5 for the day, down 1.01%, with turnover of 27.429 million shares involving HKD4.592 billion. HSBC's London shares last quoted at GBX1,572.4, down 1.57%, equivalent to about HKD165.74, around 0.5% below the Hong Kong closing price.

HSBC HOLDINGS announced at noon that its 2Q26 reported profit before tax soared 60% YoY, above market expectations. The bank declared a second DPS of USD0.1 and planned to resume share buybacks of up to USD1 billion.

Citi said HSBC HOLDINGS' 2Q results were mixed, with revenue slightly beating driven by the wealth management, while NII guidance was raised. However, the buyback scale was below expectations and the cost guidance posed concerns. Citi maintained a Buy rating with a TP of HKD171.8.
