# zHBM! Samsung Unveils New 3D Memory Roadmap, Striving for Leadership in AI Technology

Samsung Electronics is heavily promoting the performance and energy efficiency improvements of its most advanced memory hardware, aiming to outperform SK Hynix and Micron Tech in the competition. In a statement, Samsung said that this new system, named zHBM, vertically stacks high-bandwidth memory on top of AI accelerators, with performance approximately eight times that of the next-generation HBM5. As part of its effort to become an end-to-end infrastructure provider in the AI era, Samsung also launched other new technologies, including the zNAND-O and V10 BV-NAND architectures.
