# So-Young International Names Former Gaotu Executive Nan Shen as CFO

So-Young International ( (SY) ) has shared an update.

So-Young International Inc., a Nasdaq-listed Chinese aesthetic treatment platform linking online services with offline procedures and medical devices, continues to build out its vertically integrated model in the country’s fast-growing medical aesthetics sector. The company’s combination of branded centers, curated content and product development is designed to support long-term growth along the aesthetic value chain.

On August 4, 2026, So-Young announced that its board appointed Nan Shen as chief financial officer, effective August 3, 2026, expanding her role from independent director to executive leadership. Shen, a former CFO of Gaotu Techedu with extensive experience at Sinoedu and PricewaterhouseCoopers, will oversee finance, human resources, legal and compliance, a move management says will bolster the group’s “scale and efficiency” strategy and could strengthen governance and operational capabilities for users, partners and shareholders.

**Spark’s Take on SY Stock**

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, SY is a Neutral.

The score is held down primarily by weak financial performance—ongoing losses and recent cash burn—despite a comparatively manageable leverage profile. Technicals are mixed with only a short-term bounce versus longer-term weakness, and valuation is not supportive given negative earnings and no dividend data. The earnings call adds upside potential via strong core growth and upbeat guidance, but profitability and cash usage remain key near-term risks.
