# HSI Adds 28 Pts at Half-day; HSBC HOLDINGS  Down Over 2% Post-results, MINIMAX-W Up Over 11%; PCB, Chip Stocks Advance

After opening up 38 pts, the HSI traded within a narrow range and closed the morning session at 25,881, up 28 pts or 0.11%, with half-day turnover at HKD142.969 billion. The HSTECH closed the morning at 4,938, up 53 pts or 1.09%, while the HSCEI ended at 8,595, up 21 pts or 0.25%.

Major techs were mixed. BABA-W (09988.HK) +2.900 (+2.305%) Short selling $1.04B; Ratio 16.107% mounted 2.31%; TENCENT (00700.HK) +6.200 (+1.272%) Short selling $626.82M; Ratio 8.792% and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) +1.600 (+1.452%) Short selling $43.73M; Ratio 20.195% gained more than 1%; XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) \-0.080 (-0.286%) Short selling $281.86M; Ratio 16.242% and NTES (09999.HK) \-1.600 (-0.778%) Short selling $83.76M; Ratio 17.148% softened, falling less than 1%.

Among blue chips, TECHTRONIC IND (00669.HK) +8.800 (+6.617%) Short selling $124.88M; Ratio 14.923% jumped up 6.62% after several brokers turned positive on the company following its results announcement. LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) +0.837 (+3.372%) Short selling $263.90M; Ratio 14.602% rallied 3.37% as it plans to launch the AI gaming tablet Legion Y700 this month. INNOVENT BIO (01801.HK) +3.450 (+3.979%) Short selling $105.16M; Ratio 12.952% soared nearly 4% after CLSA said its 1H26 product revenue far exceeded expectations. HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) \-3.600 (-2.162%) Short selling $223.37M; Ratio 12.848% reported 2Q reported profit before tax above expectations, but Citi downgraded the stock to Neutral, sending shares down 2.16% by midday.

MINIMAX-W (00100.HK) +26.000 (+11.295%) Short selling $137.18M; Ratio 11.911% rallied 11.29% after the company's H3 model was integrated by more than 100 partners within 24 hours of its open-source release. Other Hong Kong AI concept stocks also advanced, with Z.AI (02513.HK) +76.000 (+7.525%) Short selling $99.88M; Ratio 2.582% up 7.52% and XUNCE (03317.HK) +5.900 (+4.251%) Short selling $16.65M; Ratio 2.817% up 4.25%.

Chip stocks led gains. SMIC (00981.HK) +3.100 (+4.747%) Short selling $260.80M; Ratio 6.065% soared 4.75%; HUA HONG GRACE (01347.HK) +8.300 (+6.144%) Short selling $561.95M; Ratio 16.221% elevated 6.14%; MONTAGE TECH (06809.HK) +13.600 (+5.179%) Short selling $24.71M; Ratio 3.334% shot up 5.18%; XL2CSOPHYNIX (07709.HK) +3.700 (+9.973%) Short selling $1.25B; Ratio 35.124% swelled nearly 10%; while XL2CSOPSMSN (07747.HK) +4.620 (+6.810%) Short selling $206.51M; Ratio 29.607% shot up 6.81%.

The US government is reportedly drafting a ban on imports of new-generation Chinese data center components, ZJ INNOLIGHT (03308.HK) \-61.000 (-5.183%) Short selling $224.67M; Ratio 6.439% said it will not comment for now as the document has yet to be released. Its share price once plummeted 16% this morning to bottom at HKD988, and stood at HKD1,116 at midday, down 5.18%.

PCB-related stocks advanced broadly. KB LAMINATES (01888.HK) +2.200 (+7.069%) Short selling $232.81M; Ratio 7.554% rallied 7.07%; KINGBOARD HLDG (00148.HK) +2.160 (+5.138%) Short selling $67.58M; Ratio 6.346% shot up 5.14%; VGT (02476.HK) +11.000 (+5.777%) Short selling $23.64M; Ratio 2.343% climbed 5.78%; HANS CNC (03200.HK) +4.600 (+4.406%) Short selling $4.55M; Ratio 3.691% elevated 4.41%; and CFMEE (09630.HK) +38.600 (+12.452%) proliferated 12.45%.
