# Index Additions, Acquisitions, and Delisting Risks: This Week's Moves in 10 Niche Equities

It's been a busy week across several unconventional US equity sectors. I'm told that during this recent market consolidation, companies ranging from global asset managers to niche equipment makers are seizing the window to execute significant structural overhauls and capital maneuvers. Multiple firms have hit crucial milestones this week—whether it's getting added to a major index or shedding dual-listing status. In fact, this might be the most significant overhaul we've seen in these niche pockets of the market so far this year.

### Ferguson (FERG.US)

Ferguson has surged recently. I'm told the North American value-added distributor has been officially selected to join the S&P 500 index, effective at the open on August 5, 2026. This comes just after the company agreed to acquire industrial distributor FloWorks at a valuation of roughly **USD 1.6 billion**. According to people familiar with the matter, this move will help Ferguson extend its reach into high-growth areas like data centers and semiconductors, further cementing its margin profile in core North American markets.

### Brookfield Asset Management (BAM.US)

Brookfield shares have remained resilient. It was undoubtedly a massive week in the asset management space. The company completed the acquisition of Oaktree's remaining 26% stake on August 3, 2026, in a deal valued at about **USD 3 billion**. This fully integrates their credit platforms to create a USD 365 billion global credit behemoth. Meanwhile, the firm is planning to commit up to **USD 9 billion** in funding to expand South Korea's sovereign AI infrastructure in a newly forged alliance with NAVER and NVIDIA.

### Flutter Entertainment (FLUT.US)

Flutter is outperforming the broader sector year-to-date. The online sports betting giant's management made a definitive call: as of August 3, 2026, it has canceled its secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange. The stock now trades exclusively on the New York Stock Exchange. I understand that insiders believe this will drastically improve its operational flexibility in the US market. In Q1 2026, Flutter's US revenue hit **USD 1.76 billion**, accounting for more than 40% of its total top line.

### Aeva Technologies (AEVA.US)

Aeva has rebounded in recent weeks. The developer of 4D LiDAR technology is set to post its Q2 2026 results after the bell on August 5. Having just closed a **USD 115 million** follow-on public offering, management appears much more confident about their cash runway for the rest of the year. Additionally, heavy-duty clients like Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems have selected Aeva's active safety solutions, providing some much-needed order visibility.

### Medifast (MED.US)

Medifast has plunged over the past month. The company's newly released Q2 2026 financial report revealed that revenue dropped 27.6% year-over-year to just **USD 76.4 million**. I'm told that to combat the shrinking traditional weight-loss business, newly appointed CEO Nicholas Johnson is pushing hard into broader metabolic health. The recently launched Trilivy system carries a lot of internal expectations, but the nearly 50% drop in active earning coaches indicates this turnaround will be a bumpy ride.

### Also

- **MACOM Technology (MTSI.US)**: The company is riding a massive upcycle in AI data center optical infrastructure. Fiscal Q2 revenue reached **USD 289 million**, up 22.5% year-over-year, and this week's Q3 print is expected to showcase further gains.
- **MDxHealth (MDXH.US)**: The stock continues to struggle, recently receiving a delisting warning from Nasdaq. With its share price falling below the **USD 1** compliance threshold for 30 consecutive days, the firm must regain compliance by year-end.
- **BioAffinity Technologies (BIAF.US)**: Commercial momentum is accelerating. Q2 2026 sales for its CyPath Lung test surged more than **200%** year-over-year. The firm also recently closed a USD 3.2 million public offering.
- **Liberty All-Star Equity Fund (USA.US)**: Trading remains steady. The fund announced an increased quarterly dividend of **USD 0.17** per share, yielding over 11% annualized. With net assets topping **USD 2 billion** as of June 2026, it is heavily leaning into tech giants like Nvidia.
- **Amplify International Enhanced Dividend Income ETF (IDVO.US)**: The fund is outperforming many peers. Managing over **USD 1.36 billion** in assets, the ETF continues to generate yield by investing in foreign dividend-paying ADRs paired with a covered call strategy.
