# HSBC HOLDINGS Appoints Broker to Launch Share Buyback Program from Tmr

HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) \-4.400 (-2.643%) Short selling $675.59M; Ratio 17.853% announced yesterday (4th) a USD1 billion buyback program. HSBC announced today (5th) that it has entered into several non-discretionary buy-back agreements with BNP Paribas, to enable the purchase of Ordinary Shares by BNP Paribas, for an aggregate purchase price of up to USD1 billion during the period from tomorrow (6th) to no later than October 23, and the simultaneous on-sale of such Ordinary Shares by BNP Paribas to HSBC
