As China invests in the semiconductor industry with unprecedented intensity and the global tech race continues to heat up, South Korea could lose its semiconductor competitive edge if it fails to help chipmakers accelerate investment, Bloomberg reported, citing South Korea's Minister of Trade, Industry and Resource Kim Jung-kwan.

Kim said at the Kwanhun Club forum hosted by the Journalists Association of Korea on Thursday (6th) that what truly concerns him is China. China's pace is beyond imagination, which is also why he has a strong sense of crisis.
