# Bank of Zhengzhou Raises RMB6 Billion via Tier-Two Capital Bond Issue

An update from Bank of Zhengzhou Co., Ltd. Class H ( (HK:6196) ) is now available.

Bank of Zhengzhou Co., Ltd., a regional commercial bank based in Zhengzhou and listed in Hong Kong via H shares, provides conventional banking and financial services to customers in Henan province while accessing China’s national inter-bank market for funding. It operates under PRC regulation and remains outside the Hong Kong banking regulatory regime despite its Hong Kong listing.

The bank has completed the issuance of RMB6 billion 2026 Tier-Two Capital Bonds in the national inter-bank bond market, with a 10-year term, fixed coupon of 1.97% and a conditional issuer redemption option after five years. Subject to regulatory approvals, the proceeds will be used to supplement its tier-two capital, strengthening its capital base and supporting future business growth and risk absorption capacity.

The successful bond issuance underscores the bank’s ability to tap domestic debt markets for regulatory capital and may enhance its resilience in a more challenging operating environment for Chinese regional banks. This move could improve capital adequacy ratios and offer greater flexibility in managing asset growth and credit risks, with implications for regulators, investors and depositors who monitor the bank’s solvency and funding mix.
