The RMB central parity against the USD was set at 6.7904, down 9 bps from the previous day. The PBOC conducted RMB1 billion of seven-day reverse repo operations at an unchanged interest rate of 1.4%, while RMB134 billion of reverse repos matured, resulting in a net liquidity withdrawal of RMB133 billion in a single day. China's three major A-share indices opened mixed this morning (7th) before turning broadly higher, ending the day up 1% to 1.4%. The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,940, up 39 points or 1.02%, with turnover of RMB1.21 trillion. The Shenzhen Component Index gained 200 points or 1.42% to close at 14,311, with turnover of RMB1.45 trillion. The ChiNext Index rose 47 points or 1.35% to close at 3,563, with turnover of RMB730.104 billion. Among mainland banking stocks, ICBC (601398.SH) -0.040 (-0.528%) and CCB (601939.SH) -0.040 (-0.396%) fell 0.5% and 0.4%, respectively, while CMB (600036.SH) -0.170 (-0.436%) slipped 0.4%. Among mainland insurers, CHINA LIFE (601628.SH) +0.420 (+1.101%) rose 1.1%, while CHINA PACIFIC INSURANCE (601601.SH) -0.200 (-0.632%) dropped 0.6%. In addition, BYD Company (002594.SZ) +0.590 (+0.660%) gained 0.7%. CONTEMPORARY AMPEREX (300750.SZ) +0.070 (+0.018%) edged up 0.02%. The US imposed an additional 15% tariff on polysilicon and related products and set a minimum import price. Separately, eight major photovoltaic polysilicon producers signed an initiative pledging not to sell below cost. Photovoltaic stocks advanced, with TONGWEI (600438.SH) +0.770 (+6.255%) rising 6.3%, while DAQO ENERGY (688303.SH) +0.300 (+1.607%) and LONGI GREEN ENERGY (601012.SH) +0.190 (+1.491%) gained 1.6% and 1.5%, respectively. Among chip stocks, SMIC (688981.SH) +4.350 (+3.504%) climbed 3.5%, while HUA HONG GRACE (688347.SH) +10.190 (+3.948%) rose nearly 4%. AI chipmaker CAMBRICON (688256.SH) +31.780 (+2.721%) advanced 2.7%. Domestic GPU stocks METAX (688802.SH) +6.380 (+0.883%) and MOORE THREADS (688795.SH) +11.890 (+2.029%) gained 0.9% and 2%, respectively. LQKJ (688008.SH) +7.160 (+3.436%) added 3.4%. Optical fibre stock YANGTZE OPTICAL FIBRE (601869.SH) +10.440 (+3.181%) rose 3.2%. Memory chip stock GIGADEVICE (603986.SH) +32.050 (+8.325%) surged 8.3%. SEMIGHT INSTRUMENTS (688808.SH) +124.990 (+5.966%) climbed nearly 6%. The three major optical module players, namely ZHONGJI INNOLIGHT (300308.SZ) -35.130 (-3.679%) , TFC (300394.SZ) +5.400 (+2.397%) and EOPTOLINK (300502.SZ) -0.920 (-0.218%) , weakened in the afternoon session. ZHONGJI INNOLIGHT (300308.SZ) -35.130 (-3.679%) reversed course to fall 3.7%, while TFC (300394.SZ) +5.400 (+2.397%) rose 2.4% and EOPTOLINK (300502.SZ) -0.920 (-0.218%) slipped 0.2%. As for CXMT (688825.SH) +0.520 (+1.001%) , the stock rose 1%. The copper clad laminate (CCL) and printed circuit board (PCB) sectors performed strongly. SYTECH (600183.SH) +12.730 (+10.004%) hit the daily limit-up, NANYA NEW MATERIAL (688519.SH) +42.910 (+16.527%) surged 16.5%, and VICTORY GIANT TECHNOLOGY (300476.SZ) +30.050 (+12.013%) closed up 12%. WUS CIRCUIT (002463.SZ) +8.670 (+7.398%) rose 7.4%, CFMEE (688630.SH) +34.370 (+8.754%) gained 8.8%, HAN'S CNC (301200.SZ) +14.490 (+5.380%) advanced 5.4%, and DONGSHAN PRECISION (002384.SZ) +7.590 (+4.044%) added 4%. TONGYU COMM (002792.SZ) +3.380 (+9.997%) hit the daily limit-up after the company said that Jiaxian Communication, in which it holds an approximately 25% stake, has not signed any R&D cooperation agreement or strategic cooperation framework agreement with NVIDIA. The Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges adjusted the eligible securities list for Southbound Stock Connect in accordance with relevant regulations, adding NEXCHIP (02249.HK) +1.000 (+3.145%) , effective from today (7th).
