# Expect a stronger yen by year-end and that could be bullish for Japanese equities: Astris Advisory

Astris Advisory's Neil Newman expects two BOJ rate hikes and a Fed cut by year-end which he then expects to lead to a narrower rate differentials that will strengthen the yen. He argues a firmer currency will lower import costs, boost corporate profitability and support both Japanese equities and the broader Asian market.
