# S&P 500 Hits Closing All-Time High on Non-Farm Payrolls Day; Nasdaq Rises ~5.2% This Week, Semiconductor Index Surges Over 9.2%

On the day the U.S. non-farm payrolls report was released, the S&P 500 closed up 47.68 points, or 0.62%, at 7,757.64, hitting a new closing all-time high after two trading days and approaching the intraday record high of 7,793.68 set on August 5. The index accumulated a 3.58% gain for the week, rising continuously on August 3-4 before sustaining narrow fluctuations at high levels.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 151.83 points, or 0.28%, at 54,036.93, accumulating a 2.96% gain for the week.

The NASDAQ Composite Index (Nasdaq) closed up 342.263 points, or 1.30%, at 26,690.615, accumulating a 5.19% gain for the week.

The Nasdaq 100 Index closed up 348.969 points, or 1.19%, at 29,722.303, accumulating a 5.12% gain for the week.
