It had been steadily climbing since the start of the Asia-Pacific session and accelerated during the release of US non-farm payroll data at 20:30 Beijing time—rising from below $4,320 to the $4,360 level. The cumulative gain for the week stood at 7.27%, with prices holding flat near $4,050 on August 3-4 and continuing to rise from August 5-7. This week, COMEX gold futures accumulated a gain of 7.16%, closing at $4,400.70 per ounce. Spot silver rose 3.11% to $63.4555 per ounce, accumulating a weekly gain of 10.29%, maintaining an overall upward trend. COMEX silver futures also rose 10.29% for the week, closing at $63.720 per ounce. COMEX copper futures fell 1.83% to $6.586 per pound, but still managed a weekly gain of 1.85%, having reached $6.8665 during the early European session on August 6. Spot platinum rose 1.33% to $1,749.38 per ounce, with a weekly gain of 6.14%; spot palladium rose 0.64% to $1,382.91 per ounce, with a weekly gain of 7.37%.
