# South African Rand Surges Over 1.3% on Non-Farm Payrolls Day, Weekly Gain Exceeds 2.3%

On Friday (August 7), at the New York close, the Euro rose 0.28% against the US Dollar to 1.1558. The release of the US Non-Farm Payrolls report at 20:30 Beijing time triggered a short-term rally, resulting in a cumulative weekly gain of 0.27% and an overall W-shaped trend.

The Pound Sterling rose 0.28% against the US Dollar to 1.3492, with a cumulative weekly gain of 0.75%.

The US Dollar fell 0.53% against the Swiss Franc to 0.8080, posting a weekly gain of 0.06%.

Among commodity currency pairs, the Australian Dollar rose 0.50% against the US Dollar, with a cumulative weekly gain of 0.68%; the New Zealand Dollar rose 0.39% against the US Dollar, with a cumulative weekly gain of 0.23%; and the US Dollar fell 0.52% against the Canadian Dollar, with a cumulative weekly decline of 0.56%.

The Swedish Krona rose 0.01% against the US Dollar, with a cumulative weekly gain of 0.26%; the Norwegian Krone rose 0.37% against the US Dollar, with a cumulative weekly decline of 0.43%; and the Danish Krone rose 0.28% against the US Dollar, with a cumulative weekly gain of 0.27%.

The Polish Zloty rose 0.39% against the US Dollar, with a cumulative weekly gain of 0.53%; and the US Dollar fell 0.88% against the Hungarian Forint, with a cumulative weekly decline of 0.77%.

The Turkish Lira fell 0.13% against the US Dollar, with a cumulative weekly decline of 0.40%; the South African Rand rose 1.34% against the US Dollar, with a cumulative weekly gain of 2.32%; the Mexican Peso rose 0.56% against the US Dollar, with a cumulative weekly gain of 1.19%; and the Brazilian Real rose 0.56% against the US Dollar, with a cumulative weekly decline of 0.23%, exhibiting a V-shaped trend.
