He views the surge in well-funded start-ups as proof that lithography is the critical bottleneck in advanced semiconductor capacity, which underscores ASML’s strategic importance rather than signaling erosion of its competitive moat. In his view, as long as ASML executes on its plan to lift throughput from about 230 wafers per hour to above 500 wafers per hour, customers will have little reason to migrate to untested architectures.
