It is understood that the Buffalo, New York-based firm is working with financial advisers to conduct the review. This is likely to include looking at whether a strategic partnership would be a better alternative to a sale. The company could also decide to remain independent. ACVA stock in fact began the day strongly soaring up 15% in pre-market trading on news of a potential deal – although it is likely to be weeks away according to reports. However, investor interest cooled in early trading. ## **Names in the Frame** Stephens analyst Jeff Lick upgraded ACVA to Overweight from Equal Weight with a price target of $10.50, up from $6.50, following the reports. He believes the resignation of CFO Bill Zeralla and appointment of Tim Fox "speaks strongly to the notion" that ACV "has crossed the mental threshold to sell." He sees no shortage of potential bidders, with Openlane (OPLN), Copart (CPRT), RB Global (RBA) and Cox Auto "obvious candidates." He believes the bid will be $10.50-plus per share. ACV helps dealerships with wholesale auctions of used cars. Its services include financing and transportation and more than 1 million vehicle inspections a year. Its shares have dropped 10% in the year-to-date and 45% in the last 12 months. This is despite reporting revenues of $214 million in Q2 2026, a 10% year-over-year increase and record unit sales of 211,000 vehicles. Adjusted EBITDA of $21 million also exceeded the high end of its guidance. However, it also said that third-party dealer wholesale volumes contracted 6% year-over-year in the quarter, with diesel fuel price increases putting pressure on transport costs. ## **Is ACVA a Good Stock to Buy Now?** On TipRanks, ACVA has a Hold consensus based on 3 Buy, 1 Hold and 2 Sell ratings. Its highest price target is $10.50. ACVA stock's consensus price target is $8.30, implying a 10.96% upside.
