Jason McCarthy has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors, including Theriva’s advancing clinical program and solid financial runway into 1Q27. The initiation of the P2a VIRAGE2 study in first-line metastatic pancreatic cancer aims to refine VCN-01 dosing, which could reduce risk for a future Phase 3 trial and enhance partnering prospects, with key data anticipated in 3Q27.

McCarthy also points to prior VIRAGE data showing meaningful improvements in progression-free survival and response duration, supporting a dose–response relationship for VCN-01. Combined with VCN-01’s differentiated mechanism—systemic administration with stromal-degrading PH20 hyaluronidase—and a valuation framework that still implies upside despite high risk adjustments and discount rates, he views TOVX as undervalued versus peers in the active oncolytic virus space.

TOVX’s price has also changed moderately for the past six months – from $0.205 to $0.230, which is a 12.20% increase.
