The RMB central parity against the USD was set at 6.7888, down 6 bps from the previous day. The PBOC did not conduct 7-day reverse repo operations today (13th), while RMB1 billion of reverse repos matured, resulting in a net daily withdrawal of RMB1 billion. After opening 0.3% to 1.5% higher this morning, the three major A-share indices fluctuated within a narrow range. Gains narrowed in the afternoon session, and the indices turned lower across the board near the close, ending the day down 0.5% to 0.9%. The Shanghai Composite Index fell 19 points, or 0.5%, to close at 3,926, with turnover of RMB1.16 trillion. The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 125 points, or 0.87%, to close at 14,289, with turnover of RMB1.39 trillion. The ChiNext Index declined 16 points, or 0.45%, to close at 3,586, with turnover of RMB661.487 billion. Among mainland Chinese bank stocks, ICBC (601398.SH) +0.080 (+1.064%) and CCB (601939.SH) +0.060 (+0.586%) rose 1.1% and 0.6%, respectively, while CMB (600036.SH) +0.070 (+0.181%) gained 0.2%. Among mainland Chinese insurers, CHINA LIFE (601628.SH) +0.130 (+0.348%) rose 0.4%, while CHINA PACIFIC INSURANCE (601601.SH) -0.050 (-0.164%) slipped 0.2%. In addition, BYD Company (002594.SZ) -0.700 (-0.774%) fell 0.8%, while CONTEMPORARY AMPEREX (300750.SZ) +2.370 (+0.602%) gained 0.6%. Among chip stocks, SMIC (688981.SH) +1.480 (+1.157%) rose 1.2% and HUA HONG GRACE (688347.SH) +3.790 (+1.387%) gained 1.4%. AI chip stock CAMBRICON (688256.SH) +0.120 (+0.011%) closed nearly flat. The company said changes in the future market environment may increase the risk of inventory write-downs, adversely affecting profitability, and that it will continue to expand the market and control related risks. Among domestic GPU stocks, METAX (688802.SH) +31.710 (+4.433%) and MOORE THREADS (688795.SH) +11.820 (+2.065%) rose 4.4% and 2.1%, respectively. LQKJ (688008.SH) -5.210 (-2.418%) fell 2.4%. Optical fibre stock YANGTZE OPTICAL FIBRE (601869.SH) -8.280 (-2.395%) dropped 2.4%. Memory chip stock GIGADEVICE (603986.SH) -8.670 (-2.098%) declined 2.1%. SEMIGHT INSTRUMENTS (688808.SH) -36.000 (-1.601%) fell 1.6%. Among the three major optical module players known as "Yi Zhong Tian", ZHONGJI INNOLIGHT (300308.SZ) +0.040 (+0.004%) closed nearly flat, while TFC (300394.SZ) +17.110 (+7.128%) and EOPTOLINK (300502.SZ) +1.700 (+0.397%) rose 7.1% and 0.4%, respectively. Meanwhile, CXMT (688825.SH) -0.640 (-1.196%) fell 1.2%. Pharmaceutical stocks rallied sharply, with MODEL ORGANISMS CENTER (688265.SH) +8.740 (+20.009%) , BOJI CRO (300404.SZ) +2.410 (+20.017%) and WANBANG PHARMACEUTICAL (301520.SZ) +14.780 (+20.000%) all hitting their daily limit-up.
