# Given Uncertainty Surrounding the Fed and Economic Data, JPMorgan Asset Management Favors Bonds Outside the US

JPMorgan Asset Management holds a more favorable view of bond markets outside the United States, as uncertainty surrounding Federal Reserve policy and economic data has made the outlook for US Treasury bonds less clear. Iain Stealey, Global Head of Fixed Income International at JPMorgan Asset Management, stated that he prefers buying short-term European bonds, particularly UK bonds. He believes that the Bank of England is not in a hurry to raise interest rates and also favors emerging markets with high real yields. He stated, "Considering the policy performance of these central banks over the past few years, it could even be said that they have greater credibility."
