# The Week Ahead: July Fed Minutes, Blue-Chip Earnings on Deck

Next week will bring a fresh batch of economic data, including the July Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting minutes and the U.S. Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI). Attention will also shift toward housing data and the typical weekly jobs report.

On the earnings front, Advanced Auto Parts (AAP), **Alibaba (BABA)**, Baidu (BIDU), Estée Lauder (EL), **Home Depot (HD)**, Lowe's (LOW), Target (TGT), **TJX Companies (TJX)**, Toll Brothers (TOL), **Walmart (WMT)**, and Wolfspeed (WOLF) are all scheduled to report.

Below is the schedule of key market events for the week ahead. All economic dates are tentative and subject to change. 

**Monday, August 17** brings the NAHB Housing Market Index for August and the Empire State Manufacturing survey.

On the docket for **Tuesday, August 18** is July housing starts, import prices, and building permits data.

For **Wednesday, August 19** we can expect all eyes to be on July's FOMC meeting minutes.

**Thursday, August 20** features weekly jobless claims and the Philadelphia Fed Business Outlook survey. 

The U.S. Flash Manufacturing and Services PMI data will drop on **Friday, August 21**.
