# Lexaria Bioscience Stock Rallies Thursday: What Investors Need to Know

**Lexaria Bioscience Corp**. (NASDAQ:LEXX) shares are surging Thursday afternoon after announcing a new Material Transfer Agreement with Hong Kong-listed **PegBio Ltd**. Here’s what investors need to know.

- Lexaria Bioscience shares are climbing with conviction. What’s driving LEXX stock higher?

## Expanding DehydraTECH Technology in the GLP-1 Market

Under the terms of the agreement, PegBio will supply a proprietary GLP-1 molecule to Lexaria. Lexaria will then process the drug candidate using its patented DehydraTECH delivery technology to evaluate its pharmacokinetic performance in upcoming animal studies.

The collaboration targets the rapidly growing market for GLP-1 therapies, which are heavily utilized to treat type-2 diabetes, obesity, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis. PegBio’s lead candidate, a long-acting injectable GLP-1 receptor agonist, gained regulatory approval in China in November 2025.

Lexaria’s DehydraTECH platform aims to enhance oral drug delivery by increasing bio-absorption and delivering active compounds more efficiently. The company noted that this agreement operates separately from its existing MTA with another pharmaceutical partner.

## Executive Insights on the PegBio Partnership

Commenting on the strategic initiative, Lexaria CEO **Richard Christopher** expressed optimism about the collaboration’s potential to optimize drug delivery.

“We welcome PegBio to our expanding group of potential future commercial partners for DehydraTECH-powered GLP-1 drugs,” said Christopher. “PegBio has built an impressive group of GLP-1-related drug products and candidates… Lexaria is excited that our proprietary technology may assist in making their drugs as accessible and effective as possible.”

Lexaria plans to provide further market updates once the animal evaluation studies are complete.
