# These 2 'Strong Buy' Stocks Are Worth Buying on the Dip, Say Analysts

Buying the dip remains one of the market's most popular investing strategies, particularly when quality stocks suffer meaningful pullbacks. The basic idea is to buy strong businesses at lower valuations, giving investors greater upside potential if their shares eventually recover.

Of course, a lower share price does not automatically make a stock an attractive investment opportunity. Stocks can fall for many reasons, ranging from temporary market concerns to genuine problems with the company's fundamentals. Successful dip buying therefore depends on finding companies whose share prices have weakened while their longer-term investment cases remain intact.

Wall Street's analysts can provide useful guidance when investors are trying to make that distinction. Analysts regularly examine financial results, industry conditions, competitive positions, and longer-term growth prospects before publishing their ratings and price targets. When analysts remain bullish following a sizable pullback, their research can help investors determine whether the lower valuation presents an appealing entry point.

The case becomes more compelling when that bullish view is shared by several analysts covering the stock. A Strong Buy consensus rating reflects broad support on Wall Street, making these stocks particularly appealing candidates after meaningful share price pullbacks.

Against this backdrop, we used the TipRanks database to find two Strong Buy stocks that Wall Street analysts believe currently offer attractive opportunities following their recent pullbacks. Let's take a closer look.

**Intuitive Surgical** **(ISRG)**

We'll start with Intuitive Surgical, a California-based company working on new robotic surgical devices. The company aims to make surgical procedures as minimally invasive as possible, to improve safety, outcomes, and recovery times for patients. Intuitive's da Vinci surgical system was the first robotic surgical system to receive FDA approval for use in the US, and has been in use since 2000.

Currently, Intuitive is using the da Vinci 5 system, the most advanced multi-port platform in the product family. da Vinci 5 includes 150 design innovations, along with 10,000 times the computing power of the older da Vinci Xi system. The company also has the da Vinci SP, a single-port entry system, designed to operate through a single incision or a natural orifice. The older da Vinci X and Xi systems are still in use, and the company provides support for them.

The da Vinci robotic surgery system is Intuitive's main product, but the company also offers the Ion robotic bronchoscopy system. This advanced medical tool provides a platform for conducting minimally invasive peripheral lung biopsy procedures, an important advantage in detecting and diagnosing various lung cancers. Early detection and treatment are essential for surviving lung cancers – but most cases are detected at late stages. The Ion system is designed to make diagnosis easier, by giving doctors access to hard-to-reach parts of the lung. Ion has been in use since 2019.

Shares in ISRG are down 29% in 2026 on a combination of factors. These include the company's conservative guidance for procedure growth and slowing expansion in the domestic markets. On guidance, Intuitive held its projection for da Vinci full-year procedure growth steady at 13.5% to 15.5%, with a preference for the midpoint of the range. The company's Q2 report also showed that year-over-year U.S. procedure growth slowed to 12% for the quarter, compared to 14% in Q1 and 17% in Q4 2025.

While these points disappointed investors, we should note that Intuitive retains a solid base for its business. The company has published some stats on its website, claiming that its products are used in over 70 countries, and that more than 20 million patients globally have been treated with Intuitive's systems.

And the 2Q26 earnings beat the forecast at both the top and bottom lines. On revenue, Intuitive reported $2.89 billion, which was up 19% year-over-year and beat the estimates by $67.3 million. The company's non-GAAP EPS, at $2.80, was up from $2.19 in the prior-year period and was 30 cents per share better than had been expected.

Oppenheimer analyst Suraj Kalia takes an upbeat view, arguing that the risk-reward equation has become more favorable at current levels. He points to several factors supporting that assessment: "US competition non-factor: field checks suggest some unique workflow challenges for \[Johnson & Johnson's\] Ottava that limit long-term appeal, Hugo real-estate issues; Economics: ISRG's customized price-volume contracts complicating competitor ROI; Flexibility: Per Click Model provides tremendous flexibility for protecting current domain; OUS greenfield opportunity: Plenty of room to grow in key geographies."

Summing up, Kalia assigns ISRG stock an Outperform (i.e., Buy) rating, and his $500 price target implies a one-year upside potential of ~25%. (To watch Kalia's track record, click here)

Wall Street broadly shares Kalia's positive view, with Intuitive earning a Strong Buy consensus rating based on 20 Buys, 3 Holds, and just 1 Sell. With shares currently trading at $401.27, the $488.68 average price target translates into potential upside of ~22% over the next 12 months. (See **ISRG stock forecast**)
