# Don't talk about valuation! Anthropic CFO personally leads early IPO roadshow, focusing on Claude and the enterprise market

According to informed sources, the artificial intelligence company Anthropic is in early discussions with potential investors to prepare for a potentially historic IPO. These meetings are currently at a high level and have not yet involved specific financial data or valuation discussions.

The company's Chief Financial Officer Krishna Rao is personally leading these meetings.

Anthropic submitted a confidential prospectus to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in June this year, officially kicking off its highly anticipated public market listing process. The company has not yet announced a specific timeline for the listing but has begun exploratory contacts with some investors in recent weeks.

Sources say the meetings focused on the company's overall strategic direction, including the Claude series of AI models, the development history of the popular programming assistant Claude Code, the company's positioning in the enterprise market, the management team situation, and the product release cadence.

The company was founded in 2021 by a group of researchers and executives who left OpenAI and has since become OpenAI's main competitor. At the end of May, Anthropic completed a funding round that valued the company at $965 billion, surpassing OpenAI's valuation of $852 billion at the end of March this year.

Anthropic is known for its cutting-edge Claude models and has made significant progress in selling AI technology to large enterprises—one of the most competitive areas among current AI developers. In May, the company stated that its annual recurring revenue (run-rate revenue) had surpassed $47 billion, far exceeding the approximately $10 billion revenue scale expected for the entire year of 2025.

Due to this strong growth expectation, some Anthropic investors believe the company may seek a valuation of $2 trillion or even higher at the time of its IPO. Informed sources emphasize that this figure is entirely derived from investors' own analyses and is not from Anthropic.

Meanwhile, OpenAI is also preparing for a potentially similarly large IPO. The company submitted a confidential prospectus to regulators shortly after Anthropic, but as of the end of June, it has not initiated similar pre-IPO investor meetings and has not provided a clear timeline for its listing
