COMEX gold futures rose 0.26% to $4,432.00 per ounce, up 0.73% for the week. Weakening U.S. economic data cooled expectations for Federal Reserve rate hikes, while uncertainties in the Middle East and long-term net gold purchases by central banks provided underlying support for gold prices. Spot silver rose 0.40% to $64.667 per ounce, accumulating a weekly gain of over 1.8%. COMEX silver futures fell 0.26% to $64.83 per ounce, but still recorded a cumulative weekly increase of 2.09%.
