The PBOC did not conduct seven-day reverse repos today (17th), while carrying out RMB565.5 billion of overnight reverse repo operations. Meanwhile, RMB367 billion of reverse repos matured. China's three major A-share indices opened 0.07% to 0.2% higher this morning and gained 0.8% to 1.3% by midday. The Shanghai Composite Index closed the morning session at 3,960 points, up 33 points or 0.84%, with turnover of RMB710.478 billion. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 180 points or 1.26% to 14,534, with turnover of RMB786.623 billion. The ChiNext Index climbed 48 points or 1.33% to 3,674, with turnover of RMB384.21 billion. Among Chinese bank stocks, ICBC (601398.SH) -0.010 (-0.132%) and CCB (601939.SH) 0.000 (0.000%) each fell 0.1% and were flat respectively, while CMB (600036.SH) -0.180 (-0.468%) dropped 0.5%. Among Chinese insurers, CHINA LIFE (601628.SH) +0.500 (+1.357%) rose 1.4%, while CHINA PACIFIC INSURANCE (601601.SH) +0.100 (+0.334%) added 0.3%. In addition, BYD Company (002594.SZ) +0.870 (+0.979%) gained nearly 1%. CONTEMPORARY AMPEREX (300750.SZ) +1.530 (+0.388%) rose 0.4% after the second phase of the Supernode energy storage project in Australia commenced commercial operations, with the third phase exclusively adopting the company's TENER energy storage system. Among chip stocks, SMIC (688981.SH) +3.230 (+2.431%) rose 2.4%. HUA HONG GRACE (688347.SH) +12.170 (+4.806%) climbed 4.8%. AI chip stock CAMBRICON (688256.SH) +47.980 (+4.390%) advanced 4.4%. Domestic GPU stocks METAX (688802.SH) +36.850 (+4.926%) and MOORE THREADS (688795.SH) +10.780 (+1.868%) rose 4.9% and 1.9% respectively. LQKJ (688008.SH) +6.560 (+3.096%) gained 3.1%. Optical fiber stock YANGTZE OPTICAL FIBRE (601869.SH) +10.560 (+2.973%) rose nearly 3%. Memory chip stock GIGADEVICE (603986.SH) +21.000 (+5.030%) climbed 5%. SEMIGHT INSTRUMENTS (688808.SH) +21.690 (+0.977%) rose nearly 1%. Among the three major optical module companies, ZHONGJI INNOLIGHT (300308.SZ) +17.110 (+1.814%) rose 1.8%, TFC (300394.SZ) +16.210 (+6.055%) surged 6.1%, while EOPTOLINK (300502.SZ) +0.380 (+0.085%) edged up 0.1%. CXMT (688825.SH) +4.970 (+9.007%) surged 9%, with half-day turnover reaching RMB22.337 billion and total market capitalization at RMB4.02 trillion. KWEICHOW MOUTAI (600519.SH) -56.810 (-4.233%) posted net profit of RMB44.517 billion for 1H26, down 1.95% YoY, with its share price falling 4.2%.
