# Zhitong Hong Kong Stock Analysis | Weakening Dollar and Geopolitical Tensions Boost Shipping, Overseas CSP's Next Round of Lobbying Stimulates Tech Surge

**【Market Analysis】**

The weekend movie "The Bull Comes" has become a hit, and although the visuals are rough and do not conform to current aesthetics, its popularity has a reasonable side; simplicity and sincerity to the extreme are also rare. The symbolism is good, especially since the stock market has risen today. Hong Kong stocks jumped more than 1.34%.

U.S. retail sales unexpectedly declined in July, further strengthening market concerns about a cooling U.S. economy. Goldman Sachs Chief Economist Jan Hatzius stated that due to cooling inflation and weak employment, the likelihood of a Federal Reserve rate hike in September is "extremely low"; traders have pushed back expectations for the next 25 basis point rate hike from December a week ago to January next year. Additionally, hardliners in Iran have abandoned fantasies about the U.S., reportedly expanding military preparations for a "new round of confrontation." The dollar weakened, with the onshore and offshore RMB/USD exchange rates both breaking the 6.74 mark. Spot gold made a comeback, breaking through $4,400/ounce during trading and reaching $4,410/ounce. WanGuo Gold Group (03939): its gold mine in the Solomon Islands has become the core engine for the company's resource expansion and gold production increase, rising over 7%.

Copper in Shanghai also strengthened, with prices breaking through 108,000 yuan/ton, nearing this year's high, while LME copper prices remained above $14,000/ton. China Minmetals Resources (01208) rose over 7%; China Nonferrous Mining (01258) rose over 5%; tungsten leader Jixin International Resources (03858) reported a pre-profit of over 1.45 billion yuan in the first half of the year, rising nearly 7%.

According to a recent report by global energy commodity price assessment agency Argus, ongoing geopolitical conflicts, combined with long-term droughts in Europe and Latin America leading to low water levels, have jointly driven freight rates on key routes such as the Panama Canal, Rhine River, Red Sea, and Black Sea to historical highs. Recently, the main contract for European shipping surged over 10% during trading, with all Hong Kong shipping stocks rising. DTX Shipping (02510) and Orient Overseas International (00316) rose nearly 7%, while COSCO Shipping Holdings (01919) and COSCO Shipping Energy (01138) both rose over 6%.

In the technology sector, overseas CSP companies, including NVIDIA, have gradually begun lobbying, and the effects are expected to be positive. The FCC's sanctions on optical modules are essentially a self-harming act, as optical modules do not possess radio frequency transmission capabilities and do not pose a national security threat; the only complex logic circuits inside are produced by American companies. The involvement of these companies will make the FCC more cautious and rational in handling this matter. Rationally, the deep ties between China and the U.S. mean that sanctions in any area would be a lose-lose situation. Including Apple's purchase of Changxin's storage chips is likely to be approved; today, Changxin (688825.SH) surged 12%, directly boosting the tech sector. Zhongji Xuchuang (03308), Zhaoyi Innovation (03986), Lanke Technology (06809), and Tian Shu Zhixin (09903) all rose over 8%.

There are also relevant domestic benefits for chips: tax incentives from four departments have been implemented, allowing integrated circuit companies to pay income tax on non-monetary asset exchanges over five years, alleviating cash flow pressure for mergers, acquisitions, and equipment replacements, benefiting wafer fabs' expansion and asset restructuring. The State Administration for Market Regulation has approved and released five automotive chip industry standards, establishing the world's first national-level capability evaluation standard system for the entire automotive chip industry chain, leading to a resurgence in chip stocks, including Hua Hong Semiconductor (01347) SMIC (00981) rose over 6%; Jinghe Integrated (02249) is set to release its earnings on August 24, rising over 6%.

Key points from the PCB upstream resin industry chain discussed last Friday: The usage of M9 grade hydrocarbon resin has significantly increased, with the ratio of M9 to M8 hydrocarbon resin and PPO upgraded from 1:2 to 2:1; major variety ChipMOS Technologies (09630) surged over 14%; Kingboard Laminates (01888) rose over 9%; Kingboard Group (00148), Shenghong Technology (02476), and Guanghe Technology (01989) all rose over 6%.

SenseTime-W (00020) announced that it expects to achieve a profit of approximately 500 million to 700 million yuan in the first half of 2026, turning a profit for the first time since its listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. This profit is based on investment income, cutting unprofitable projects, and various cost reductions, with improvements in its main business direction. The market will continue to watch whether the AI main business can achieve profitability. Today it rose nearly 9%.

Changfei Fiber (601869.SH) announced the implementation of its dividend distribution: a cash dividend of 0.295 yuan per share (including tax), with the equity registration date on August 20, 2026, and the ex-dividend date on August 21, 2026. The same applies to H shares, converted to Hong Kong dollars. Since its listing on the A-share market in 2018, Changfei Fiber has paid dividends every year, with a total cash dividend distribution exceeding 2 billion yuan and a dividend payout ratio of about 30%, equivalent to distributing one-third of its profits to shareholders. H shares surged over 12% today.

Yushu Technology is expected to be listed in late August (18-24). Yushu Technology's official Weibo account posted in the afternoon about the release of "Superman": "Jumping 2 meters in place, maximum speed of 12.66 m/s (with a leg length of 0.85 meters), surpassing the world record for in-place high jump and running speed for all humanity. The new machine was developed in just over three months, and there is still significant room for improvement in the coming months." This is impressive, considering Jamaica's "Lightning" Bolt set the men's 100-meter world record of 9.58 seconds at the 2009 Berlin World Championships, achieving a maximum speed of 12.42 m/s between 60-80 meters. The 2026 World Robot Conference will be held from August 19 to 23 in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, with the theme "Human-Machine Symbiosis, Integration of Production and Demand." Today, the main focus was on low-priced varieties, such as Yuejiang (02432) rising nearly 7%; Estun (02715), Lens Technology (06613), Delta Electronics (00179), and Sanhua Intelligent Control (02050) all saw increases of around 4%.

The pharmaceutical sector is also a mainstream direction in the market, with leading company WuXi AppTec (02359) rising another 3% to refresh its historical high. Kelaiying (06821) and Zhaoyan New Drug (06127) rose over 6%, while Genscript Biotech (01548) reported a 203.3% increase in adjusted net profit and a 27.3% increase in revenue for the first half of the year, achieving strong growth in its core business, rising over 4%.

The market is also continuously exploring the concept of revising the Hang Seng Tech Index. The core content of this revision includes: expanding the scope of the technology theme of the index, adjusting the selection mechanism for constituent stocks, and increasing the number of constituent stocks. Some institutions believe that Smoore International (06969), Bairun Technology (06082), AAC Technologies (02018), UBTECH (09880), and ASMPT (00522) are likely to be included **【Sector Focus】**

According to retail data from the Passenger Car Association, in July 2026, the retail sales ranking of domestic new energy vehicles saw Geely Xingyuan leading with 32,306 units sold, followed by Leapmotor A10 and Tesla Model Y with 26,424 units and 25,158 units, respectively. Data compiled by "Yiche" shows that the top three in both new energy vehicles and pure electric vehicles for the month are identical, indicating that pure electric products remain the main support for the current new energy retail market.

By type, the top three retail sales for plug-in hybrid vehicles in July were BYD Song Pro, Equation Leopard Titanium 7, and BYD Qin PLUS, with sales of 13,757 units, 10,820 units, and 7,568 units, respectively. In the range-extended models, Zhijie V9 ranked first with 8,974 units, followed by Aito M9 and Leapmotor D19 with 7,389 units and 7,145 units, respectively.

An important indicator for investing in car companies is to look at sales, as only the top-ranking models will be favored. Major models include: Geely Automobile (00175), Leapmotor (09863), and BYD Company (01211).

**BYD Company (01211): Intensively launching new cars to seize the mid-to-low-end market, energy storage forming a second growth curve**

Recently, BYD's Ocean Network B-class fully equipped sedan—the 2027 model Seal 06—was officially launched, offering both pure electric and plug-in hybrid versions with a total of 12 models, priced between 99,900 yuan and 155,900 yuan. BYD's Equation Leopard today officially announced the Titanium 7DM long-range version, positioned as a "technology large space SUV," with the launch event scheduled for August 18 at 19:00.

**Commentary**: Recently, BYD has been intensively launching new models, focusing on capturing the market around 100,000 yuan and 200,000 yuan. In terms of cost performance, it is highly competitive. The global penetration rate of new energy continues to rise, and energy storage is a trillion-level incremental track, with the company occupying leading positions in two high-growth tracks.

BYD's revenue from new energy passenger vehicles accounts for over 80%, covering all price ranges with its Dynasty, Ocean, Tengshi, Equation Leopard, and Yangwang brands, operating both hybrid and pure electric lines simultaneously, making it the global sales champion in new energy. The energy storage system is the company's second growth curve, with Haohan energy storage integrating grid-side and household solar storage. The overseas high-margin explosion shows that the company's overseas single-vehicle gross margin is significantly higher than that in China, with overseas business expected to contribute nearly 80% of the net profit from complete vehicles by 2026, becoming the core incremental profit. Energy storage is simultaneously landing globally in the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America, with a clear exclusive advantage in integrated solar storage solutions.

With a full order book, energy storage orders include: 1) The UAE Masdar 11.275GWh energy storage system, which landed in July 2026, is the world's largest single energy storage procurement contract, supporting a 5.2GW photovoltaic power station, with industry estimates of the contract scale between 4.4 billion and 10.9 billion yuan, to be delivered in 2027-2028; the battery capacity is equivalent to 186,000 new energy vehicle batteries. 2) Poland's 600MW/2.4GWh energy storage project, the largest lithium battery energy storage station in Poland's history, is set to start construction in Q3 2026 and connect to the grid by the end of 2027, opening up space in the EU energy storage market. 3) Saudi Arabia's 12.5GWh grid-side energy storage project, which previously landed a giant energy storage project in the Middle East, solidifying its leading position in the Middle Eastern market Vehicle Orders: 1) Domestic: Orders for the Dynasty, Ocean, Equation Leopard, and Denza models are full, and foot traffic for the second-generation fast-charging models has significantly rebounded, with the domestic market share expected to rise to 23%-27% by the end of the year. 2) Overseas Vehicles: In the first half of 2026, overseas deliveries are expected to reach 792,200 units (up 71% year-on-year), with institutions forecasting annual overseas sales of 1.5 to 1.8 million units, aiming for 2.5 million units in 2027; long-term orders from overseas dealers are secured, and production capacity at the Hungary and Thailand factories is ramping up to meet delivery demands. 3) Battery Supply: Long-term supply agreements with Tesla, Toyota, and Renault, with stable annual framework agreements with overseas automakers, continue to increase external supply.

The company's sales forecast for 2026 anticipates annual new energy vehicle sales to reach 5 million units, with 1.7 million units overseas. BYD's overseas market is growing rapidly, having already achieved a leading position in markets such as the UK, demonstrating strong long-term competitiveness, with large storage orders bringing guaranteed revenue
