# Micron Stock Is Surging Toward $1,000 Again. Can MU Keep Climbing?

Micron (MU) stock could keep climbing, with Wall Street seeing more room for gains after its recent run. The shares have risen for four straight sessions and are now trading above $1,000 in pre-market trading. New Street Research analyst Pierre Ferragu recently upgraded Micron to Buy and set a $1,250 price target, while UBS analyst Timothy Arcuri set a much higher target of $1,625.

The bullish calls come as demand for memory chips remains strong, led by spending on AI data centers. Ferragu also believes the memory market could be entering a longer period of growth instead of following its usual boom-and-bust cycle. If that view proves right, Micron could have more room to climb even after its strong gains this year.

## **Wall Street Is Raising the Bar for Micron**

New Street's bullish call reflects Micron's strong results and tight supply in the memory market. Ferragu sees this setup supporting Micron's sales and profit growth. That helped drive his move from Neutral to Buy and his $1,250 price target.

UBS analyst Timothy Arcuri is even more bullish, with a $1,625 price target. He expects Micron's earnings to stay strong well beyond the current year. Arcuri sees EPS reaching $74.13 in 2026, $184.89 in 2027 and $265.65 in 2028. He also expects EPS to remain above $160 in 2029.

Arcuri's estimates point to a much longer period of strong earnings for Micron. His view also suggests the stock could move well past $1,000 if profits keep rising.

## **AI Demand Could Keep Memory Prices High**

AI data centers are driving strong demand for memory, while supply remains tight. That is pushing DRAM and NAND prices higher. KeyBanc expects DRAM prices to rise 15% to 20% in the third quarter and another 15% in the fourth quarter. NAND prices could rise 30% to 40% in the third quarter.

Higher prices can lift Micron's sales and profit. The bigger question is how long this strength can last.

New Street believes AI could make the memory market less prone to the sharp swings seen in past cycles. New supply takes time to come online, while data centers continue to need more memory.

Micron is also putting more money into the AI market. The company recently launched a $250 million fund for AI startups while expanding its memory business. If AI demand stays strong, Micron could benefit from both higher prices and rising chip use.

## **Is MU a Good Stock to Buy Right Now?**

Turning to the Street, Micron stock carries a Strong Buy consensus based on 29 Buys and one Hold assigned in the past three months. The average MU stock price target is $1,569.07, which implies over 61.48% upside from the current price.
