Guangfa Securities analyst Alicia Xia stated in an investor report on Monday: "To support strong capacity ramp-up, Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM.US) has significantly expanded its deployment of CPO testing and inspection equipment, particularly increasing the capacity of Insertion 2/3. Additionally, key suppliers such as FAU (Fiber Array), Shuffle Box, and system assembly are making good progress. We maintain our forecast for NVIDIA's Scale-out CPO switch shipments to reach 15,000 units in the estimated year of 2026 and 100,000 units in the estimated year of 2027." Furthermore, NVIDIA's Scale-up (Vertical Scaling) CPO/NPO (Near-Package Optics) based on NVL576 is expected to be adopted in the second half of 2027. Meanwhile, Amazon (AMZN.US) is expected to launch three configurations of Trainium 4, two of which are anticipated to use NPO. Alicia Xia pointed out, "One design is based on ALAB PCIe Gen7, while another is based on UALink switching chips," adding, "The 64-card system based on UALink is expected to become the mainstream form, while PCIe Gen7 may serve as an early solution. We also expect Trainium 4 to adopt NVIDIA's NVLink Fusion, which may deploy NPO designs similar to NVL576."
