# It is reported that Google (GOOGL.US) plans to move its Pixel production line out of China before 2027

According to reports, Google (GOOGL.US) has informed suppliers that the company plans to move the production of all Pixel smartphones, smartwatches, and wireless earbuds outside of China starting in 2027. If the timeline proceeds as planned, Google will complete the relocation of its Pixel production line out of China before 2027, with Vietnam and India becoming its main manufacturing centers.

This adjustment is part of Google's broader supply chain diversification strategy aimed at reducing exposure to geopolitical and trade risks associated with China. Reports indicate that this plan will make Google the second major smartphone manufacturer, after Samsung, to significantly relocate smartphone production out of China.

Insiders have added that Vietnam and India are gradually becoming key manufacturing centers. Google has previously successfully produced high-end Pixel smartphones in Vietnam, which has given the company's management more confidence in setting a timeline for completing the production relocation by 2027. India is also becoming an increasingly important manufacturing base for Google. The company has been expanding local Pixel production in India, including the production of more advanced models.

Despite rising component costs, Google expects Pixel smartphone shipments to grow by 8% to 10% this year. In 2025, Pixel smartphone shipments are projected to be around 12 million units. Google is also integrating its memory chip procurement for its cloud computing and smartphone businesses to cope with rising costs and enhance its bargaining power with suppliers such as Micron Technology (MU.US), Samsung Electronics, and SK Hynix (SKHY.US)
