# Memory Chips Sector Slumps Intraday, Micron Down 4.4%, SanDisk Down 5.4%

During intraday trading on August 18, the memory chips sector faced broad-based selling pressure, with mainstream names moving lower across the board. As of press time, Micron Technology (MU.US) was down 4.44% at $966.83, trading between a high of $978.67 and a low of $955.47, with turnover reaching $5.52 billion.

Sector leader SanDisk (SNDK.US) led declines, trading at $1,689.26, down 5.38%, with an intraday range of $1,676.03 to $1,724.99 and turnover of $5.61 billion. Hard drive manufacturer Western Digital (WDC.US) fell 5.71% to $505.29, while Seagate Technology (STX.US) dropped 5.41% to $940.98. Everspin Technologies (MRAM.US) declined 4.51% to $18.97.

Among derivative products, Micron-related ETF MUU.US fell 8.94%, while MUD.US gained 4.72%. SanDisk-related ETFs showed divergence with SNXX.US down 10.98% and SNDQ.US up 10.97%. Overall, the memory chips sector displayed broad declines during the intraday session, reflecting cautious investor sentiment.
