# A-Share Three Major Indices Slide Nearly 2% to 5% at Midday; Unitree Robotics Surges 4.9x; Chip Stocks Under Selling Pressure; Grain Stocks Continue Rally Against Market Trend

The central parity rate of RMB against USD was set at 6.7854, up 51 bps from the previous day and hitting a fresh high in more than three and a half years. The PBOC did not conduct seven-day reverse repo operations today (19th), but carried out RMB327.4 billion of overnight reverse repo operations. With RMB469.7 billion of reverse repos maturing, the market recorded a net liquidity withdrawal of RMB142.3 billion for the day. China's three major A-share indices opened down nearly 1% to 2.7% this morning before losses widened further, with midday declines reaching nearly 2% to 5%.

The Shanghai Composite Index fell 78 points or 1.96% to close the morning at 3,912, with turnover at RMB784.069 billion. The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 580 points or 3.97% to 14,041, with turnover at RMB834.079 billion. The ChiNext Index slumped 184 points or 4.98% to 3,520, with turnover at RMB404.155 billion.

Among mainland bank stocks, ICBC (601398.SH) +0.140 (+1.825%) and CCB (601939.SH) +0.150 (+1.438%) rose 1.8% and 1.4% respectively, while CMB (600036.SH) +0.650 (+1.698%) gained 1.7%. In the insurance sector, CHINA LIFE (601628.SH) -0.110 (-0.298%) slipped 0.3%, while CHINA PACIFIC INSURANCE (601601.SH) +0.210 (+0.700%) added 0.7%. In addition, BYD Company (002594.SZ) -0.400 (-0.447%) fell 0.5%. CONTEMPORARY AMPEREX (300750.SZ) -4.620 (-1.166%) declined 1.2% after announcing a strategic partnership with Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor focused on full-scenario technology development and standards customization.

Rising bond yields intensified market concerns over heavy investment by technology companies. Following the overnight slump in US chip stocks on the 18th, mainland chipmakers also weakened alongside external markets. Among semiconductor stocks, SMIC (688981.SH) -7.980 (-5.912%) dropped 5.9%, while HUA HONG GRACE (688347.SH) -27.570 (-10.423%) plunged 10.4%. AI chipmaker CAMBRICON (688256.SH) -100.580 (-8.652%) sank 8.7%. Domestic GPU stocks METAX (688802.SH) -35.730 (-4.640%) and MOORE THREADS (688795.SH) -29.400 (-5.079%) fell 4.6% and 5.1% respectively. LQKJ (688008.SH) -17.020 (-7.807%) declined 7.8%. Optical fibre stock YANGTZE OPTICAL FIBRE (601869.SH) -34.620 (-9.025%) lost 9%. Memory chip stock GIGADEVICE (603986.SH) -36.510 (-8.360%) tumbled 8.4%, despite the company reporting a YoY surge of 1,091.5% in net profit and 179% growth in revenue for 1H26. SEMIGHT INSTRUMENTS (688808.SH) -120.060 (-5.062%) fell 5.1%.

Among the three major optical module players known as "Yi Zhong Tian", ZHONGJI INNOLIGHT (300308.SZ) -76.960 (-7.789%) dropped 7.8%; TFC (300394.SZ) -11.640 (-3.994%) slid nearly 4% despite posting a YoY increase of 33.92% in 1H26 net profit; and EOPTOLINK (300502.SZ) -31.290 (-6.919%) declined 6.9%.

Meanwhile, CXMT (688825.SH) -2.700 (-4.562%) fell 4.6%, with turnover reaching RMB16.304 billion and total market capitalization standing at RMB3.78 trillion.

Unitree Robotics (688836.SH) +733.070 (+486.121%) debuted with shares opening up 6.29x at RMB1,100, giving it a market capitalization of as much as RMB444.9 billion. By midday, the stock had surged 4.86x to RMB883.87, with turnover of RMB17.731 billion and market capitalization of RMB357.494 billion.

However, other A-share robotics concept stocks came under pressure, with ADD INDUSTRY (603089.SH) -1.180 (-10.000%) , QIN'AN (603758.SH) -1.280 (-9.969%) , ZHONGDA LEADER (002896.SZ) -8.490 (-10.001%) and GREATOO INTELLIGENT (002031.SZ) -0.630 (-10.064%) all hitting limit down.

Grain-related stocks continued to rally against the broader market trend. JINJIAN CEREALS IND (600127.SH) +0.710 (+9.986%) hit limit up for a third consecutive session, while CADSG (600313.SH) +0.410 (+6.047%) rose 6.1% by midday and WANXIANG DONEED (600371.SH) +0.420 (+5.160%) gained 5.2%.
