# Trending | INTC Plummets 6% on Tuesday, Some Put options Soar 1300%

On August 18, Eastern Time, Intel options saw a total of 868044 contracts traded, with calls accounting for 58% and puts making up 41%.

Intel has 5980954 contracts outstanding, with calls accounting for 50% and puts making up 49%.

The top volume gainer was the 100 dollars Call option expiring on August 19, 2026, with 22970 contracts traded.

On the news front, Heavy selling drove shares down 6% Tuesday as volume topped 121 million. The sharp drop fueled massive demand for downside protection, causing select put options to surge 1300%.
