# What's Going On With Taiwan Semiconductor Stock Wednesday?

**Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd.** (NYSE:TSM) stock edged higher in Wednesday premarket trading after falling 4.07% in the previous session amid a broader market pullback.

The stock gained about half a percent as investors weighed its longer-term uptrend against a mixed market backdrop. Nasdaq futures fell 0.07%, while S&P 500 futures rose 0.06%.

With no major company-specific headline driving Wednesday’s move, the stock appears to be stabilizing after Tuesday’s sharp decline.

Investors are also watching key moving averages after Taiwan Semiconductor’s strong run over the past 12 months. The stock’s June peak remains an important level for traders.

## Taiwan Semiconductor Technical Analysis

Taiwan Semiconductor is trading about 0.3% above its 20-day simple moving average of $413.01. However, it remains 2.5% below its 50-day SMA of $424.85.

That setup points to a choppy near-term trend. Still, the longer-term picture remains constructive. The stock trades 13.6% above its 200-day SMA of $364.68.

The relative strength index stands at 47.66, putting the stock in neutral territory. The reading suggests neither buyers nor sellers have clear control.

Meanwhile, the 20-day SMA remains below the 50-day SMA, a bearish crossover that reflects recent weakness. Bulls will likely look for the stock to reclaim and hold above its 50-day SMA as a sign that the pullback is losing steam.

Key resistance sits around $477, near the upper end of the 52-week range and the stock’s previous June peak. Key support stands around $385.50, near a recent pivot where buyers previously stepped in.

## Analyst Outlook

The stock trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of about 31 times, reflecting a premium valuation. It carries a Buy consensus rating with an average price forecast of $552.

**Bernstein** maintained an Outperform rating and raised its price forecast to $554 on Aug. 11. **Needham** maintained a Buy rating and raised its price forecast to $530 on July 27. **DA Davidson** maintained a Buy rating and raised its price forecast to $500 on July 17.

## Taiwan Semiconductor Benzinga Edge Rankings

The Benzinga Edge scorecard highlights Taiwan Semiconductor’s strength in momentum, quality and growth:

- **Momentum: 86.86** — The stock maintains a strong trend profile despite its recent pullback.
- **Quality: 97.43** — The score points to strong underlying business quality.
- **Value: 31.01** — The stock’s valuation leaves less room for bargain hunting.
- **Growth: 87.7** — Strong growth expectations remain a key part of the investment case.

The Benzinga Edge scores point to a momentum- and growth-driven stock backed by strong business quality. However, its valuation remains elevated. A move back above the 50-day SMA could offer stronger technical confirmation for longer-term bulls.
