The RMB central parity against the USD was set at 6.7808, up 46 pips daily and hitting a fresh peak in more than three and a half years. Today (20th), the PBOC refrained from conducting seven-day reverse repo operations for the eighth consecutive trading day. With RMB327.4 billion of reverse repos maturing, a net withdrawal of RMB327.4 billion was realized in a single day. The three major A-share indices opened 0.3% to 1.3% higher this morning. The Shanghai Composite Index opened up 12 points or 0.33% at 3,907. The Shenzhen Component Index opened up 142 points or 1.03% at 14,032. The ChiNext Index opened up 44 points or 1.27% at 3,517. Among mainland bank stocks, ICBC (601398.SH) -0.090 (-1.154%) and CCB (601939.SH) -0.050 (-0.474%) opened down 0.6% and nearly 1%, while CMB (600036.SH) -0.510 (-1.303%) opened down 0.9%. Among mainland insurers, CHINA LIFE (601628.SH) +0.040 (+0.109%) opened down 0.8%, while CHINA PACIFIC INSURANCE (601601.SH) -0.190 (-0.629%) opened down 0.6%. In addition, BYD Company (002594.SZ) +1.520 (+1.714%) opened up 0.4%, while CONTEMPORARY AMPEREX (300750.SZ) -1.380 (-0.355%) opened up 0.7%. Among chip stocks, SMIC (688981.SH) -0.230 (-0.180%) opened up 0.6%. HUA HONG GRACE (688347.SH) -2.650 (-1.137%) opened up 2.3%. AI chip stock CAMBRICON (688256.SH) -20.290 (-1.931%) opened up 0.9%. Domestic GPU stocks METAX (688802.SH) -9.030 (-1.239%) and MOORE THREADS (688795.SH) -0.740 (-0.135%) opened nearly 1% higher and flat, respectively. LQKJ (688008.SH) +1.300 (+0.650%) opened up 1.5%.
