# HSBC Advances Global Share Buy-Back With Fresh Repurchases

HSBC Holdings ( (GB:HSBA) ) has issued an announcement.

HSBC Holdings plc has continued executing its share buy-back programme announced earlier in August 2026, repurchasing and cancelling a fresh tranche of ordinary shares across both U.K. and Hong Kong trading venues. The latest transactions were conducted through BNP Paribas Financial Markets SNC, underscoring HSBC’s use of major global counterparties to implement capital management actions.

On 20 August 2026, the bank bought 1,481,000 shares on U.K. venues and 368,800 shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, at volume-weighted average prices of £15.0258 and HK$160.1021 respectively. Since the buy-back’s commencement, HSBC has repurchased about 17.97 million shares for an aggregate consideration of roughly US$370.3 million, modestly reducing its outstanding share capital and total voting rights and signalling ongoing efforts to optimise its balance sheet and enhance shareholder value.
