# Zijin Gold surges 8% as Hang Seng index review set to unveil

Zijin Gold International (2259.HK) **surged 8%** during regular trading to **HK$159.90**.

The Hang Seng Indexes Company is set to announce its quarterly review results after Friday's close. CICC expects the gold miner to join the Hang Seng Index, though a low free float could weigh against inclusion. Citigroup also flagged the stock as a potential candidate.

The rally builds on strong first-half results reported last week: net profit nearly tripled to **US$1.451 billion**, revenue doubled to **US$3.987 billion**, and the company declared its first interim dividend of **HK$1.50** per share. Citigroup and Bank of America Securities both rate the stock a buy, with target prices of **HK$178** and **HK$150**, respectively.

International gold prices remain elevated near record highs, supported by continued accumulation from central banks globally, providing a tailwind for gold-mining stocks.
