# Synaptics CFO Resigns Amid Ongoing onsemi Merger Plans

Synaptics ( (SYNA) ) has issued an announcement.

On August 20, 2026, Synaptics announced that Chief Financial Officer Ken Rizvi resigned with immediate effect to pursue another opportunity, though he will stay on in an advisory capacity until September 30 to support the handover. The company said the move did not stem from any disagreements over operations or accounting, and former Chief Accounting Officer Kermit Nolan is returning as a consultant to bolster the finance team during the transition.

Rather than launch a formal CFO search ahead of its pending merger with onsemi, Synaptics has appointed President and CEO Rahul Patel as principal financial officer until the deal closes, with no additional pay for the interim role.
