Big Tech Night Session Mixed: Tesla Surges Nearly 5%, Google Up Over 1%
Big Tech stocks displayed divergent trends during the night session on August 21. As of press time, Tesla (TSLA.US) stood out as the top performer, touching a high of $366.50 during the session before closing up 4.99% at $362.86. Trading volume reached 59.13 million shares, making it the only major stock in the sector with a gain approaching 5%.
Performance among other tech giants was mixed. Google (GOOGL.US) rose 1.22% in night trading to $344.82, hitting an intraday high of $346.20. Meta (META.US) also advanced, gaining 0.75% to $549.90. In contrast, Apple (AAPL.US) and Amazon (AMZN.US) saw slight pullbacks, falling 0.63% to $309.35 and 0.57% to $258.63, respectively. TSMC (TSM.US) edged down 0.25% to $418.95 in night trading.
In leveraged and inverse products, TSLL.US surged 9.77% to $9.77 in the night session, while TSDD.US plummeted 10.21% to $8.18, indicating significant market divergence on Tesla's future direction. Google-related leveraged product GGLL.US gained 2.45%, while its inverse counterpart GGLS.US declined 1.27%.
