With Wall Street expecting another quarter of explosive growth, investors will be looking for the kind of performance that can remind them why Nvidia became one of the market's biggest winners. ### Summer Sale - Claim 70% Off TipRanks NVDS: built for a short position on NVDA And those memories set a very high bar. Nvidia stock is up about 16% year-to-date, a gain most companies would gladly take, but one that looks modest compared with Nvidia's history. At roughly the same point in 2025, shares had climbed about 30%, while in 2024 they had soared close to 160%. Investors hoping Wednesday's report can bring back some of that magic should keep one thing in mind: delivering those kinds of returns becomes much harder when you are worth $5.2 trillion. Still, Nvidia continues to grow at a pace rarely seen from a company of its size. Wall Street expects the chipmaker to report record fiscal second-quarter revenue of about $92 billion, nearly double the year-ago level, with Data Center revenue once again accounting for the majority of sales. One analyst setting the stage for Nvidia ahead of the report is Oppenheimer's Rick Schafer. The 5-star analyst, who ranks #22 among more than 10,000 Wall Street analysts tracked by TipRanks, rates NVDA shares Outperform (i.e., Buy) alongside a $265 price target, which implies about 23% upside for the next 12 months. (To watch Schafer's track record, click here) Schafer expects the rollout of Nvidia's next-generation VR200 systems, which are on track to ramp in the current quarter, to strengthen second-half growth. The analyst projects more than $1 trillion in combined revenue from GB200, GB300 and VR200 between 2025 and 2027, while Nvidia's annual accelerator upgrade cycle should help preserve its technological advantage. That product roadmap is one reason Schafer calls Nvidia the "undisputed AI infrastructure leader." His confidence extends beyond GPUs, with the company offering processors, networking equipment, interconnect technology and CUDA software as part of an end-to-end computing platform. The analyst expects Data Center revenue to rise 15% sequentially, while Networking revenue is projected to increase 35%. China could provide another boost. Schafer believes sales of Nvidia's H200 accelerator there could "provide added upside optionality (>$50B)." Such a contribution would give Nvidia another sizable revenue opportunity beyond the growth the analyst expects from Blackwell Ultra and the upcoming Vera Rubin generation. And despite Nvidia's enormous valuation, Schafer does not think the opportunity has run its course. "We remain long-term buyers," he said. The analyst models $212 billion in free cash flow this year and $312 billion next year, leaving Nvidia with substantial financial capacity for share repurchases, supply-chain investments and expansion throughout its AI ecosystem. Schafer sums up Nvidia's competitive position with perhaps his strongest description: "AI's castle on the hill." The rest of the Street sees even more upside ahead. In fact, Wall Street is unanimous on Nvidia, with all 26 analysts covering the stock over the past three months recommending a Buy, giving NVDA a Strong Buy consensus rating. The average price target of $301.82 points to about 41% upside from current levels.
