LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

Lam Research stock rose 0.5% in premarket trading, trading near its 200-day moving average despite short-term technical weakness. The chipmaker announced a $1.2 billion investment to build India’s first semiconductor component manufacturing unit, aiming to use the country as an export hub amid government incentives. Technically, the stock shows long-term strength but short-term caution, with analysts maintaining Buy ratings and an average price target of $385.63.

Lam Research Corp. (NASDAQ:LRCX) stock rose about 0.5% in Friday premarket trading as investors weighed the chip equipment maker’s longer-term uptrend against weaker short-term momentum.

Nasdaq futures gained 0.15%, while S&P 500 futures fell 0.29%.

The stock has pulled back sharply from its summer peak. It is now trading near its 200-day moving average, a key longer-term trend indicator.

Lam Research Plans $1.2 Billion India Investment

Lam Research is also expanding its manufacturing footprint in India.

The company plans to invest 100 billion rupees (about $1.2 billion) to build India’s first semiconductor component manufacturing unit, CNBC-TV18 reported. Lam Research also plans to use India as an export hub.

The investment comes as India expands its domestic chip industry under the India Semiconductor Mission 2.0. The program will focus on more fabrication plants, advanced packaging facilities, semiconductor materials and research projects.

Technical Analysis

The 20-day SMA also remains below the 50-day SMA. That points to continued short-term weakness despite the longer-term uptrend.

Momentum remains cautious. The MACD is below its signal line, while the histogram is negative. Both indicators suggest buying momentum has weakened.

Lam Research hit its 52-week high of $438.50 in June before falling to a July swing low.

A move above the $295-$310 area could signal that the stock is starting to recover its short-term trend. Resistance sits near $322. Support is around $250.50.
