LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

Elon Musk predicts SpaceX could achieve GPT-6-level AI within 2-3 months and reach a leading position in the AI race within six months. He highlighted SpaceXAI's massive GPU expansion, detailing current Colossus supercluster capacities and plans to add hundreds of thousands of Nvidia GB300 GPUs by late December. This aggressive infrastructure scaling supports SpaceX's evolving AI strategy, which includes acquiring Cursor and integrating with Tesla for physical AI applications.

Elon Musk, CEO of Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX), expressed his optimism about SpaceX’s AI development, predicting a leading position in the AI race within six months.

Musk took to X on Thursday to share his thoughts on SpaceX’s AI progress and stated, “I am cautiously optimistic that SpaceX will have a Fable/GPT-6 level model in 2 to 3 months.”

In another post, Musk emphasized the company’s rapid growth, stating, “If our second derivative remains strong, SpaceX will reach pole position in about 6 months.”

He further stated that beyond a certain intelligence threshold, additional capability offers little benefit for specific tasks, using a “Newton-level” intellect in a toaster as an example. Musk also stressed that rapidly deploying massive computing infrastructure is extremely difficult, citing SpaceX’s ability to bring large-scale hardware online as a strength.

1. We will keep accelerating. Our AI efforts are only 3 years old, vs 6 and 10 years old for Anthropic and OpenAI. If our second derivative remains strong, SpaceX will reach pole position in about 6 months.

2. Once you far exceed the caliber of intelligence needed for a class…

Musk Details xAI’s GPU Expansion

Later, a user named Min Choi quoted Musk to spotlight xAI’s, now known as SpaceXAI, three-year trajectory, noting its Colossus 1+2 cluster now totals around 670,000 GPUs alongside rapid releases like Grok Imagine, Voice, Build, Bot, and version 4.7.

Musk responded to the user, detailing the GPU makeup of xAI’s Colossus superclusters, which are powered by Nvidia Corp.‘s (NASDAQ:NVDA) GPUs. Colossus 1 has 150,000 H100, 50,000 H200, and 30,000 GB200; Colossus 2 has 110,000 GB200 and 440,000 GB300. He added that expansion plans include another 220,000 GB300 GPUs operational next week, 220,000 more in November, and potentially 220,000 by late December, rapidly scaling total compute.

Colossus 1 is 150k H100, 50k H200 and 30k GB200.

Colossus 2 is 110k GB200 and 440k GB300.

Another 220k GB300 will be fully operational next week and another 220k in November. If we get lucky, yet another 220k GB300 by late December.

SpaceX Pushes Deeper Into AI

Musk’s comments come as SpaceX’s AI strategy is gaining momentum. In August, JPMorgan analyst Doug Anmuth said SpaceX’s AI narrative is evolving beyond rockets and Starlink. The company’s acquisition of AI coding platform Cursor was seen as a key step towards building a stronger enterprise AI business.

JPMorgan estimates Cursor generates about $4 billion in annual recurring revenue, with roughly 75% from business customers, giving SpaceX an enterprise distribution channel and coding data to help improve Grok. The bank said Grok 4.6 has also gained ground on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index while remaining competitively priced.

Moreover, Morgan Stanley analysts said SpaceX and Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) are increasingly sharing technology, talent, and infrastructure as they pursue opportunities in "physical AI." The firm believes this growing overlap could eventually support a potential merger, particularly as investors look beyond traditional AI models toward physical AI applications.
