According to Wall Street News, Tesla introduced the HEPA bioweapon defense mode in 2016 and tested it. When developing and designing Tesla and Model X, Tesla not only considered how to avoid collisions but also how to ensure that drivers avoid the harm of severe air pollution. Tesla stated, &#34;The 'bioweapon' defense mode is not a marketing gimmick, and its effect is absolutely true.&#34;
Tesla introduced that a Model X that underwent testing was placed in an environment with severe pollution of up to 1000 µg/m³ of PM 2.5 (the US Environmental Protection Agency defines &#34;good&#34; air quality as PM2.5 values below 12µg/m³), and then the biological defense mode was activated by closing the car doors. In less than two minutes, the HEPA system reduced the pollution level to an extremely low level, to the point where Tesla's detection instruments could no longer detect it. In the following minutes, it also purified the outside air, reducing the PM2.5 concentration by 40%.
