Before the 93rd birthday of the stock god Warren Buffett, he received a great gift from the capital market.
The closing of the overnight US stock market saw Berkshire Hathaway Class A shares, owned by Buffett, reach a historic high, pushing the market value of his 15% stake to $118 billion.
On Thursday local time, Berkshire Class A shares closed up 1.4% at $541,000, surpassing the previous closing peak of $539,180 set on March 28, 2022.

At the same time, Berkshire Class B shares rose 0.8% to $353.81, but were about 1.5% lower than the peak of $359.57 set on March 28, 2022.

Berkshire Class A shares have risen about 15% so far this year, more than 25,000 times the price of around $20 when Buffett took control of the company in 1965. Moreover, Class A shares have never been split during Buffett's tenure.
The current trading price of the stock is about 1.5 times the book value predicted by Barron's on June 30, as well as 23 times the expected earnings for 2023.
Berkshire's current market value is about $780 billion, ranking eighth in the US stock market, second only to Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, Nvidia, Tesla, and Meta.
Berkshire will release its second-quarter earnings report on Saturday. According to the first-quarter earnings report released in May, Berkshire's revenue in the first quarter increased by 20.5% year-on-year, and net profit increased by more than five times. However, Buffett warned that the &#34;American economic tailwind&#34; that the company could rely on has ended, and the earnings of most of its subsidiaries this year will be lower than last year.
Buffett has been the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway since 1965 and will celebrate his 93rd birthday on August 30.
Buffett wrote that he will leave his stocks to foundations and has been donating to these foundations since 2006. Buffett has designated five foundations as recipients, with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation being the primary one. The other four foundations are related to his three children.
