New breakthroughs in brain-computer interface technology, leading concept stocks have increased by more than 2.3 times this year

They have for the first time identified and decoded brain activity related to "inner speech"—the silent monologue in people's minds—with an accuracy rate of up to 74%. This groundbreaking research, led by a team from Stanford University in the United States, was published in the journal Cell on August 14, opening up new pathways to help patients with severe speech impairments regain natural communication abilities. The application prospects of brain-computer interface technology are vast. According to McKinsey's estimates, the potential market size for global medical applications of brain-computer interfaces is expected to reach between $40 billion and $145 billion by 2030-2040. Data released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology shows that the market size of brain-computer interfaces in China reached 3.2 billion yuan in 2024, and it is expected to exceed 5.5 billion yuan by 2027. In the A-share market, there are nearly 30 concept stocks related to brain-computer interfaces. According to statistics from Securities Times·Data Treasure, as of the close on August 15, the average increase of brain-computer interface concept stocks has been 48.67% this year. Four stocks have doubled in cumulative gains, namely Innovative Medical, Hanwei Technology, Xiangyu Medical, and Aipeng Medical.
