Hong Kong Airlines will increase the fuel surcharge again after about a week, effective tomorrow (18th).
For short-haul flights from Hong Kong to Japan, South Korea, Thailand, etc., the surcharge will rise from HKD 212 to HKD 290, an increase of nearly 36.8%; for long-haul flights from Hong Kong to North America, Europe, the Middle East, etc., the surcharge will increase from HKD 739 to HKD 1,164, a rise of 57.5%.
Hong Kong Airlines raised the fuel surcharge on March 12 (last Thursday), with flights from Hong Kong to Japan, South Korea, Thailand, etc., increasing from HKD 162 to HKD 212, an increase of about 30%; and long-haul flights from Hong Kong to North America, Europe, the Middle East, etc., rising from HKD 589 to HKD 739, an increase of about 25%
