It is proposed that from 2025 to 2027, the province will add 120,000 rental-type affordable housing units through the acquisition of existing commercial housing, including 20,000 public rental housing units and 100,000 affordable rental housing units. A certain number of existing commercial housing units will be acquired for use as allocated affordable housing and elderly care service housing. In 2025, the province will add 45,000 rental-type affordable housing units through the acquisition of existing commercial housing, including 10,000 public rental housing units and 35,000 affordable rental housing units.
