Basic Semiconductor surges on price hike plan
Basic Semiconductor (9971.HK) tumbled in Hong Kong trading, rising more than 10% to HK$38.56.
The company recently announced that due to rapid growth in emerging applications such as artificial intelligence and new energy vehicles, market demand continues to grow while industry supply and demand remain tight. Starting from the third quarter of 2026, the company will moderately adjust selling prices for some products, with price increases expected to be no more than 25%. This move aims to support R&D investment and ensure quality supply, with specific plans to be negotiated with customers based on product categories and order sizes.
