XPeng climbs 5% on broad NEV rally and Volkswagen partnership milestone
XPeng (9868.HK) climbed 5% in Hong Kong trading to HK$48.24, tracking a broad rally in new-energy vehicle names including NIO and Li Auto, which also gained 5% or more.
The company recently marked the 100,000th unit off the production line for the ID. UNYX 08, the first model developed under its partnership with Volkswagen Anhui. XPeng has also opened pre-orders for the G9L at RMB 259,800, targeting the family-SUV segment with both battery-electric and range-extended powertrains on an 800V platform.
In overseas markets, cumulative deliveries in France surpassed 6,000 units, while July exports hit a record 9,700 vehicles, up 223% year on year. XPeng is scheduled to report second-quarter 2026 results on Aug. 24. Morgan Stanley maintains an Overweight rating with a target price of HK$96.
